The Enlightenment in the 18th and 19th centuries stimulated people's enthusiasm for exploring nature. Naturalism flourished and became a manifestation at that time, which was highly valued by the upper class in Europe. H.J. REDOUTE IS GOOD AT PAINTING SHELLS, INSECUTS, WILDLIFE, ETC. IN 1794, HE WAS APPOINTED AS A FRENCH ROYAL PAINTER. IN 1798, NAPOLEON INVAD EGYPT. H.J. REDOUTE WENT WITH IT. WHILE NAPOLEON WAS FIGHTING, H.J. REDOUTE WAS RECORDED THROUGH PAINTING. It was engraved by BENARD, France's most famous engraving master at that time. BENARD was good at line engraving skills. Line engraving is particularly good at expressing the texture of double shellfish. The combination of shellfish themes and line engraving has achieved classic copper engraving works in the history of natural history in the 18th century. H.J. REDOUE'S DEMODATION IS ACCURATE AND ARTISTIC. THE FINE AND COMPLEX LINES PRESENT THE BEAUTY OF FASCINING GEOMETRIC CURVES, BUT ALSO PERFECTLY SHOW THE NATURAL BEAUTY OF THE SHELL, WHICH IS AMAZING. This work is an extremely rare P-panse encyclopedia (compiled by the French celebrity Panckoucke) shell guidebook series. It was engraved by BENARD, France's most famous engraving master at that time. BENARD was good at line engraving techniques. On the one hand, the delicate and complex lines present the fascinating beauty of geometric curves, but also perfectly show the natural beauty of marine life, which is amazing. Introduction to the P-version encyclopedia: The familiar encyclopedia is mainly the D-version encyclopedia, which was organized and compiled by the French enlightenment thinker Diderot. It completed this masterpiece in 1772 and played an important role in the enlightenment of people's scientific knowledge and rational spirit. However, text-based expressions are often abstract and lack interesting, which limits the in-depth popularization of scientific knowledge among the public. It is also for this reason that natural painting has begun to enter the historical stage. In 1782, Panckoucke, a Parisian celebrity, launched a significant publishing project, re-edited the D-version encyclopedia knowledge system, revised the wrong and inaccurate content, and hired famous artisans to draw drawings, including masters such as the REDOUTE brothers. Participated in it and formed a P-page encyclopedia. The last of the great Enlightenment encyclopedia is called the last of the great Enlightenment encyclopedias by Western academic circles. The P edition contains exquisite black and white copper engravings, from which It can be seen that the exploration and deepening of science has reached an amazing level 200 years ago. As shown in the figure, the anatomical display of organisms is almost the same as that of modern biology, so it is called "great". Few P-page encyclopedias exist. The main reason is that the P-page is not timely. Affected by the social turmoil of the French Revolution around 1789, painters and craftsmen have been displaced. The P version of the hand-to-hand workshop can only be made intermittently, and the number is very small, and some of it has been destroyed by war. Even if it is circulated, it is often not good to preserved. Water stains, wormholes and stains are common.
